My passion for AmStaffs began in the early 90’s, after owning and exhibiting American Eskimo Dogs alongside them for quite a few years. My very first show AmStaff (Starlite’s Naughty by Nature aka Sebastian) came to me in July of 1994, and boy oh boy, did we have a whirlwind romance for years. I exhibited him in both UKC, finishing as the #3 dog in 1995 at the age of 18 months; and in AKC, finishing at 21 months of age and taking 2 separate BOB wins over specials to get there.

I dabbled in various pedigrees throughout the years that Sebastian was with me, but never seemed to find “just the right one” that I wanted to invest my whole heart into. Then along came “Toni” in late 2000. I had always taken a keen interest in the Ruffian bloodline, and having befriended Paul Viramontes of Majestic Kennels years earlier, he honored me with pick bitch out of his maiden Ruffian litter. And with that arrival of Majestic’s Steelin’ My Heart, I knew I had found the line of AmStaffs for me. “Toni” is a tightly line-bred bitch, a double Hardrock grand-daughter, that had everything that I wanted. And although she was my “reserve –to-majors” queen, lol, her structure, temperament and personality was everything I had always wanted to build a foundation on.

With the unexpected arrival of my son in 2003, and still another in 2005, I let Toni spend quite a few years on the couch here, but used my time wisely away from breeding and showing, to attain all of Toni’s health certifications and to research, research, research. In March of 2006, after careful consideration to pedigree, temperament and confirmation, Fullmoon Midnight Rider (Flash) from Lisa Jenkins of Fullmoon Kennels joined our family. Since his arrival here a year ago, all of his health and temperament certs have been attained, and his show career is in progress. I now feel very secure in the knowledge that I have found my foundation.

What I have found in both Toni and Flash is exactly what I have been striving to be able to produce for myself in the future:

* Rock solid temperaments with happy, eager to please personalities.

* Sound genetic health with OFA certifications to back it up.

* Textbook structure and movement in a correct standard-sized package.

* Beautifully line-bred ancestry that encompasses so many of the dogs I have admired for years.

Our lines are based strictly on the Ruffian bloodline, screening carefully to produce sound, stable, structurally competitive individuals for the show-ring, as well as outgoing, lovable and healthy couch companions.
